The building where the headquarters and the historical plant are located was one of the first industrial settlements in Northern Italy: the breeding of silk worms in this site dates back to the second half of the Nineteenth Century.
LAMPLAST bought the building (some 16.000 m2) and the surrounding area (about 60.000 m2) in 1977, moving there its PVC compounding activity, which had started few years before at Renate, a small town not far away from Giussano.
The previous structure was removed and substituted by a prefabricated one in 1997; 120 minutes fire resistant walls have been built according to the safety measures provided by the fire department; state-of-the-art heating and lighting systems have been installed, making possibile a significant reduction of energy costs.
The Bulciago plant is very close to the SS36 highway between Milano and Lake Como, it spans over 60.000 m2 of land, whose ownership was taken in 2015, and it includes 3 buildings, for a total of 27.000 m2 covered. At full capacity, it will be able to host up to 16 large sized compounding lines, including those which will be moved from Giussano.
The new plant has been designed and deployed with energy saving and environmental sustainability in mind:
